Meet our Art Camp Instructors

  • GRAHAM DANE

    GRAHAM DANE

Co-Founder, Primary Art Instructor for Art Camp 2026

Graham Dane was born just west of London and studied Art and Art History at Oxford Brookes University (1984-87), an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Painting and Printmaking there concurrent with evening life-drawing classes at St Martin's School of Art, London (1990-91). In 2013 he was awarded a Masters in Art History from Birkbeck College.

For Graham, Abstract painting is the visual equivalence of music. Both use the same vocabulary: tone, harmony, composition, dissonance. We allow one to transport us via our ears into the beyond, to move us. We don’t ask what we "see" but how we feel. “My goal is to produce works where people don’t care what anything was/is because they’re so enveloped by them.”

Graham and his life partner Linda Infante Lyons were the founding Primary Art Instructors for the first-ever Art Camp at The Nave (previously known as Church of Love). Graham has continued to bring his creative expertise for each new Art Camp iteration here, and we feel truly lucky to have him with us in 2026.

We are honored and delighted to have Addie at the helm of Art Camp 2026 at The Nave.

  • JULIA MURAKAMI

    JULIA MURAKAMI

Julia Murakami, known professionally as Jupiter_Midnight, is a visionary artist and art instructor based in Alaska. Her work is inspired by the state’s dramatic landscapes, where vast wilderness and shifting light inform her vibrant use of color and form. Specializing in contemporary figurative portraiture, Julia blends natural beauty with emotional depth, creating paintings that invite introspection and quiet contemplation. Her approach emphasizes both technical mastery and personal expression, encouraging viewers to connect with the emotional narratives within each piece.

Julia began painting at a young age, developing her skills through years of dedicated exploration and practice. As an instructor, Julia invites students to see art as a tool for emotional connection and self-discovery, guiding them to honor both their inner world and the natural world around them through thoughtful, expressive creation. We look forward to welcoming Julia for two new Art Camp Workshops in 2026.
